Club members chat about music & life while learning how to play this quirky instrument! No previous ukulele experience is necessary. Ukuleles will be provided for students during class. This Winter, those enrolled will also have a bonus performance opportunity after the end of the session to perform at ACT's Spring Luncheon on 3/12!

Winter ACTion Drummers
Mondays

(Bass 6 Drummers: 6:00-6:45PM)
Join ACT's drum troupe and learn about rhythm, percussion, dynamics, and using music as a tool to build up each other and our community! We have two (2) sections of ACTion Drummers: Treble 5 Drummers (5-5:45pm) and Bass 6 Drummers (6-6:45pm). Both groups are open to all levels of experience, from beginner to advanced. No previous drumming experience is required to be an ACTion Drummer. Please sign up for the time that works best for you!
NOTE: Our Bass 6 section of ACTion Drummers (6-6:45pm) focuses on creating a lower sensory drumming experience. Open to all levels, no previous drumming experience required, we aim to keep this section smaller so students are able to explore in a slightly quieter environment while still rocking out.

Tuesday Programs
In this class, artists will experience different materials and styles of puppet making. Sock puppets, paper bag puppets, shadow puppets, and even collaborative large-scale puppets will be explored as potential puppeteer options! Students will be asked to consider character and performance choices. How will this puppet move on stage and interact with other characters? The class will culminate in a combined theatre showcase with Behind the Mask.

Puppet Making & Performing
Tuesdays (4:00-5:00 PM)
Join us for an hour of character creating and mask making! This class will be focused on building artists' confidence on stage, while also offering practice using a mask to embody characters. Students will learn how to display emotion via crafting different types of masks. The final showcase will be at Kuyper College on the Vos Chapel stage.

Behind the Mask
Tuesdays (5:15-6:15 PM)
A community choir directed by teaching artist Erinn Epp, and accompanied by pianist Alisha Snyder. The choir is focused on fun, upbeat music, friendship, and technique. Each season culminates in a community concert. Open to individuals & to transition classrooms.

An ACT teaching artist will meet you virtually OR in-person to provide one-on-one art instruction.
Performing Art instruction offered: guitar, piano, drum, ukulele. Students must have their own instruments.
Visual Art instruction will also include a materials fee and will require materials to be picked up and dropped off at ACT, if virtual.
Session times and location scheduled to fit your needs. All sessions 45 minutes. Offered to individuals of all ages.
Costs:

Winter Individual Instruction
Additional Programs
Groove with your ACT friends! Tune in to request your favorite songs, show off your dance moves, and enjoy a virtual evening of community. Only registered students will receive the Zoom link; sign ups close a week before each Dance Party.

The Art of Printmaking will explore the printmaking process from start to finish. No previous experience needed! Projects will use a variety of materials and subject matter allowing each artist to create unique prints.

Grab your spare magazines, some scissors, and a gluestick - it's time to collage! This class will focus on the art of combining images - and other multimedia elements - to create something new and expressive. Collages will be on display at the class showcase on 5/20.
